Brand strategy, concept development, writing, production and experiential design for partners seeking a creative co-conspirator. Clients include Bespoke Post, Edible Manhattan Group, Soho Experiential, Loyal Kaspar, NBCU, and Vice. 

Creative Director
THRILLIST
NYC, Jan 2020 – Aug 2022

Responsible for bringing the magic to the US’s #1 food and travel site. Oversaw creative concept and direction for all editorial, social, video, and experiential initiatives, as well as paid partnerships, licensing and sponsored content. Ensured bleeding edge design and aesthetic, and introduced innovative narrative formats for the brand.  Oversaw creative team staff. Key achievements:

• REVVEL: Creatively lead a partnership with Virgin Voyages to launch their first criuse ship through a 3-day event series including exclusive dinner and entertainment programming featuring Trixie Mattel, the House of Yes, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Major Lazer Soundsystem. Responsible for all elements of event concept, execution and content packaging.

• GHOST KITCHEN: a delivery service pop-up featuring rotating restaurants and custom swag kits. This pioneering experiential activation took place during pandemic shut down, keeping audiences engaged (safely) and providing a lifeline to struggling restaurants.  

• SLAY RIDE HOLIDAY DRAG PARTY: Thrillist's annual holiday show starring Manila Luzon, Monique Heart, Monet-X-Change, Jasmine Rice, and many more beloved queens, benefiting a selected LGBTQIA+ charitable foundation each year. Sponsors included Orbitz (2020) and Paramount+ (2021). Oversaw concept development, set design, styling, graphic package, marketing and promotion. 

• EDITORIAL BRAND IDENTITY: Developed a top to tail editorial style for Thrillist including new logo, typefaces, photographic direction,  illustration rules and style guide. Introduced visual storytelling and immersive digital packaging for tentpole editorial content, creating over 30 interactive experiences during my tenure.

Cross organizational creative lead, brand strategist, writer and live action director. Clients included Nike, Baha Mar, Vice, Marriott, Hilton, Avid,  The Scott Brothers and Hudson Pacific Properties. Oversaw junior creative staff and freelancers. Key Projects: 

  • HILTON: Creative and strategic lead for Tapestry Collection and Curio Collection. Projects included strategy, brand videos, photo shoots, brand identity, copywriting, and social content

  • MARRIOTT: Creative lead on branded content projects and Bonvoy TV video

  • AVID: Lead strategic brand positioning and research  to revamp the entertainment tech industry heavyweight for a new audience. Creative lead for new visual brand identity and comms plan based on the winning strategy

  • Creative lead for Gluttony’s luxury and retail clients. Senior strategist for existing clients, new business, and corporate development

  • SEIKO - Lead creative and strategy for all US campaign engagement, social media, and sales materials for the Pulsar and Luxe brands

  • GOOGLE - Lead creative for internal experiential marketing, including video installations, VR and AR experiences, and environmental design. Other clients include CLINIQUE, STEPHEN SILVER JEWELRY, and RITANI JEWELRY

Developed and oversaw campaign strategy and partnerships for new programs and brand initiatives on A&E and The History Channel. Lead cross-functional workshops and brainstorms to redefine the A&E brand. Ran writer’s room workshops to push the creative envelope with social, promo and content creative. Shows worked on: The Critic’s Choice Awards, 60 Days In, Alone, Six, Roots.

  • YSL BEAUTY - Consulted with the digital marketing team at client to help reimagine the in-store experience at key locations around the US. Tactics focused on mobile and augmented reality techniques to enhance the shopping experience for the YSL customer and to establish a lasting branded presence on their personal devices while elevating brand essence

  • CESSNA-TEXTRON AVIATION COMPANY Creative lead for Cessna’s first-ever digital magazine, Attaché, a magazine celebrating Cessna’s unique breed of general aviation pilots and aircraft owners. Attaché was Havas’ first-ever Newsstand iPad app, developed on the Adobe DPS publishing platform. Served as Editor in Chief and developed new production processes and workflow to support the platform

  • SENIOR COPYWRITER(2010-2013): Digital content strategist and lead copywriter for several  major clients including Sanofi, Janssen, Pfizer, and Novartis.
